How to Prepare for Large Item Deliveries from Med Mart
If you’ve ordered a large item from Med Mart—like a hospital bed, lift chair, scooter, or patient lift—your order will most likely ship by freight (LTL) delivery.
Freight deliveries are a little different from regular package deliveries, so it’s important to know what to expect.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you prepare.
How Freight Delivery Works

Scheduling:
Once your item arrives at the local freight terminal, the carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment.
You’ll be given a window (for example, a 2–4 hour timeframe) for when the driver will arrive. -
Curbside Delivery:
Freight deliveries are curbside only, meaning the driver will bring the item to the closest safe point outside your home—such as your driveway, garage entrance, or sidewalk.-
The driver will not bring the item inside your home unless you have purchased Premier In-Home Delivery.

Signature Required:
You (or someone you authorize) must be present to inspect and sign for the delivery.
Before Delivery Day

Make sure your driveway or entrance area is clear and accessible for a large truck.

Arrange for help moving the item indoors, especially for heavy products.

Have your phone nearby in case the freight company needs to contact you.
Upon Delivery

Inspect the packaging carefully before signing.
If there is any visible damage:-
Write "Package Damaged" on the delivery receipt before signing.

Take photos of any damage immediately.

If the damage looks significant, you may refuse the delivery and contact Med Mart right away.
Tip: Even if the outside of the box looks slightly damaged, you should still inspect the product inside as soon as possible.
After Delivery

Unbox the item carefully and keep all packaging until you are sure the product is in good condition and working properly.
